The Family First Service is designed and dedicated to empower families to support children 0-12 years who have sustained an acquired brain injury (ABI) throughout Northern Ireland.
The Family First Service recognises that the whole family system is affected when a child sustains an ABI. Our service works with the whole family unit to enable everyone to better manage the impact of ABI in daily life. Evidence-based practice forms the foundation of all of the Family First work.
The Family First Service launched their interim report on Friday 18th January 2019 at Pinsent Masons. Click on the link below to download a copy of the report:
Anyone can make a referral to Children's Services and we accept referrals from across Northern Ireland. Once a referral is received we will contact the family or referral agent directly to discuss the next steps. To make a referral please complete the Children's referral form
The service is funded by Big Lottery and in partnership with the Department of Psychological Services, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust.
Family First is a regional service that provides support to families affected by childhood ABI in their own homes and local community.
The Family First Portal is designed to aid communication between families and the Family First Service.
